Yes, more spring babble

Wisteria - Blooming purple flowers all over Atlanta
Azalea -- Blooming red and white flowers all over Atlanta
Dogwoods -- Blooming white flowers all over Atlanta
Oaks and Maples -- getting that fuzzy green look as the leaves are popping out
(Pollen count, 1356)

My drive home is starting to get that tunnel-of-green look again as the back streets near my apartment are starting to leaf up, right on those branches that overhang the road. And still no kudzu!

And better yet, as if this evening could actually get better, my DSL got switched on! 1472000 bps baby!

Jerry and I just got DSL a few weeks ago, and I LOVE it. Is there anything better?

Why, yes there is - driving through those "green tunnels" (what a great way to describe them!) and up 400 where I can gaze at all the bright green kudzu and beautiful purple and white flowering trees...ahh, spring in the south :)

Yep, that's what I'm talking about ;)

Except the kudzu. It's not bad, just sometimes it can be just a bit too creepy (in many senses of the word.)

I know what you mean - I have to keep my distance from it, although I wish it weren't so creepy sometimes. Near where my parents live, there is an old abandoned farmhouse on the side of the road, copmletely engulfed by mangled vines of kudzu and other vegetation (most people don't even notice it); it looks so neat that I wish I could get closer than just driving by, but I'd be eaten alive (whether the kudzu or the bugs would get to me first, I'm not sure, but you can bet that it would be within a split second!)

Last year, some developer in town cleared a field of kudzu to build something or another. They found a civil war cemetary, perfect gravestones and everything. Caused the whole project to be shot in the toilet while the historians combed the place. Who knows what lies under those fields of vine?

Wow, that's really neat!
